Agent guide
Agent-friendly map of Poem Explorer
Poem Explorer exposes 3408 public-domain poems from 142 poets, with tags, keywords, semantic vectors, source metadata, and rights metadata.
Primary routes
Use / for the interactive poem reader, /search for focused semantic search, and /explore for the time-and-place visual map. Use /learn for the educational hub. Use /eras/sufi, /eras/romantic, and /eras/modernist for high-context era pages. Use /guides/how-to-read-a-poem and /guides/public-domain-poetry for reader guidance and rights context.
Link directly to an individual poem with /poems/{permalink}. The permalink field in the corpus is an immutable public handle.
Data files
Use /poems.json for the public corpus payload. It includes manifest, poems, featuredPoems, permanent handles, tags, keywords, semantic vectors, source metadata, and public-domain assertions.
The semantic vectors are lightweight local discovery signals, not external model embeddings. They are designed for transparent ranking and recommendation inside the app.
Recommended agent behavior
When recommending poems, prefer the title, poet, tags, and source metadata. When discussing rights, preserve the distinction between original authorship, source edition, and translation.
Do not assume modern translations of older poets are copyright-free. Use the source fields and publicDomain fields included in the corpus.
