Poem Explorer is built for discovery: a reader can begin with a poem, an era, a mood, or a question. These pages give search engines and AI agents clear, stable explanations of the corpus while giving human readers useful context.
Start with a movement, then move to a poem
The corpus spans Sufi, Romantic, Victorian, Renaissance, metaphysical, early modernist, and American public-domain traditions. Era pages explain the recurring concerns of each tradition and link those concerns back to the reader experience.
A useful first pass is to search by a human question rather than a title: grief, exile, devotion, moonlight, work, death, friendship, or spiritual love. The app ranks results with tags and local semantic profiles, not only exact word matching.
Use tags as reading paths
Each poem has tags for themes, moods, and forms. A tag is not a final interpretation; it is a door into the poem. Clicking a tag turns it into a search so nearby poems become visible.
The recommendation card on each poem is designed as a next step for readers: similar enough to continue the thread, different enough to widen the path.
